Dr. Matt Forster received his undergraduate education from Union College, earning a degree in biology with honors distinction. He then entered dental school at the University of Pennsylvania with a full scholarship from the United States Navy. He graduated at the top of his class for which he received many rewards, including the Matthew Cryer Award, Best Clinical Dentist Award and election by the faculty into the National OKU Dental Honor Society.
He then was selected for an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program in the Navy and served two years forward deployed onboard USS Ponce (LPD-15) as Chief Dental Officer and department head.
Following active duty, Dr. Forster returned to the University of Pennsylvania for a residency program in orthodontics. During his residency, he was awarded the clinical research award and publication in the international European Journal of Orthodontics.
Dr. Forster specializes in orthodontic treatment for children, teens and adults. His patients benefit from receiving the latest orthodontic technology on the market. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the American Dental Association, American Cleft Lip and Palate Association, Rhode Island Dental Association, Rhode Island Association of Orthodontists and past president of the Newport County Dental Society.
Dr. Forster lives in Aquidneck Island with his wife, Meredith, and their three beautiful daughters. They all enjoy outdoor activities, especially the beach, boating and cycling, and spending time giving back to the community!
